Public Service Announcement

I know a lot of you out there help your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc., with technology-related issues. You may want to forward this along to them:

How cute is that little old woman?! I could bite her, she's that cute.

If I'd known you were gonna show this I'd have at least colored my hair!
Darn you...
I'm cute in pink though huh?

canary - Maybe she'll let you borrow her teeth.

fiona - Darn cute! All you need now is a hat.

She looks like she might have it figured out. I wonder if she can come to my house?

Surely, it would be easier to just give everyone in America a new flat screen TV. If McCain had run with that idea, he'd be getting ready to move into the White House right now.

mike - Take a number.

scotus - Brilliant. I don't know why you didn't run for office.

My poor 95 year old grandmother. I think she'll just have to lay down and die now. She'll never get that figured out and if she can't watch her Lawrence Welk, what's the point in living?

j.m. - I know what you mean. I only hope the facility that my 88 year old mother is in handles the transition to digital gracefully.

Well, at least your mother has someone who might be able to figure that out. My grandmother's only son lives in Virginia (my dad) and her two deadbeat grandsons who live a few miles from her in California are, well, deadbeats. Of course, even if I was still living near her, I'd be useless. Technology eludes me. I'm still trying to figure out how to switch between my computers hard drive and my two external HD.

In forty more years, that's going to be me, only by then we'll have transporters and I won't know how to get myself beamed up or something equally simple.

And now I'm rambling. And I didn't even have booze tonight. Go figure. (Although, how hilarious is this? My word verification is rumdroj! Wasn't there some discussion about Jamaican wine and sticking to rum?! Hm....)

Yeah, we also discussed how I'm so technologically out of the loop these days that I don't do Facebook, MySpace or Twitter. Like you, I suspect I'll be left behind. It really doesn't matter to me.

I know some people like this. Seriously! Don't forget tomorrow's Silly Sunday Sweepstakes...gotta good one for ya!

Melissa - Don't we all. Loved the SSS (the sweepstakes, not the... well, you know). I saw it on Monday morning and my brain was just not at a place where I could come up with something clever. I'll try again next week.

I've watched this video about 5 times now and keep coming back. Love it.

I'm just glad my dad's a gadget guy like I am. I don't do tech support. :)

brian - I'm not a particularly handy guy either. Funny, I posted this on whim when somebody forwarded it to me. I'm glad it's been so well received. I'm not really looking forward to February of next year.
